September Stuff

We started off the month with a week in Israel visiting scores of Ben's relatives. We had a great time catching up, learning lots about the country, hearing stories of the older generation, and eating way too much. I still need to make the photo album, but will add it later.

The Wednesday after our return, Ben's friend Jake convinced him to play hooky from various meeting to join the Charles River Wheelmen on a Wednesday Wheelers excursion around Cape Ann, going counterclockwise from Gloucester. We also took a little side trip to the Paper House near Rockport.

After we got back we went to NYC with Rick & Gitte to catch a concert by Renaissance. During the day we re-discovered one of R&G's old favorite restaurants, Brasserie, where we had a very nice lunch. Their web site claims a "futuristic, ultra-sleek cosmopolitan setting", but it's really mid-century modern, so we felt right at home. The next day we visited Ross out at Hofstra, then headed back to Boston.

On the 25th Ben and Kathy did their fourth annual Hub on Wheels ride, this time stretching to do the 50-mile route - which turns out to be about 48 miles, in reality. More on that, here:
