Our first full day of excursions was indeed a very full day. Overnight we had motored around Santa Cruz island to North Seymour, itself north of Baltra, where the airport was. We had a hike on the island, where we saw marine and land iguanas, sea lions, Sally lightfoot crabs, swallow-tail gulls and frigate birds and their nests, lava lizards, pelicans, and a bunch of other stuff. So much to take in! Then a short snorkel trip off the pangas, where we swam with very playful sea lions.
Back to the boat for a crossing to Bartholome island. Ross spotted dolphins in our bows and so lots more photography and merriment ensued. Another snorkel off the beach there, this time with a penguin joining us. Finally, a climb to the top of the mountain to admire the most spectacular scenery in the sunset.
Took more photos on day 2 than any other, but it really was a packed day.
