Since we're going to Venice we thought we'd take advantage of the latest exhibit at the MFA in Boston: The Venetian painters, Titian, Tinturetto, and Veronese. While I can't say I loved all of the paintings, it was an excellently constructed exhibit, displaying similar paintings from different artists side by side for comparison, which really highlighted the styles of each. In addition there was a display of a couple of paintings that had been examined with X-rays which revealed the original sketches beneath, as well as mistakes and entire repurposing of paintings. Very interesting indeed!
No photos allowed in the Venice exhibit, but I did shoot a couple of pieces in the Chinese hall. Very nice, modern-looking stuff.
