Kathy and Ben just returned from a fabulous two and a half week trip to Italy. We spent the first week in Venice with our daughter, Ariana, and niece, Jessica. Then we met up with Toronto friends Tom and Michelle for a bike tour from Venice to Florence. Tour was organized by Freewheeling Adventures and was top notch. Final stop was a couple of days in Florence. Weather was perfect except for a little rain one day in Venice.
We took along the portable GPS unit to record our bike tracks and to bail us out if we should get lost (which we did, and it did). The photo below shows the whole set of bike paths we recorded. The blue bit of path was recorded while we were in the van hopping over one peak.
We had lots of cameras along on the trips: there were four in Venice, four on the bike trip (including the guide's), and our two in Florence. Thousands of photos to sort through. I'm also going to experiment with geotagging some of the bike photos to see how that works, given that I have the GPS tracks to work with. So watch the photos section for updates. -it's now up to date!
