The two of us went up to Ithaca at the end of May and had a great time hiking, kayaking, and visiting the Cornel Botanic Gardens. We also, of course, enjoyed many meals with Celia and Dan.
We saw a number of merganser families with the cutest little ones, some swimming and diving in play in front of the Lake House. A bald eagle flew by several times, as well.
The gorge trail at Taughannock Falls was closed so that crews could go along the cliffs clearing away loose shale so that it would not come down on hikers below during the summer. It was cool to see them rappelling down from the rim trail where we were hiking.
