Ben and Kathy went to Antigua for Kathy's Birthday. Ben planned it as a surprise -- Kathy only knew that she was going
somewhere, and that it was probably warm.
We left on Dec 6, the last plane out of Boston before they closed the airport due to a snowstorm that eventually
dumped 18". We barely made our connection in San Juan, and got our luggage the next day. Fortunately we only
needed the bathing suits Ben had packed in the carry-on bags.
We had a great time: lots of sailing, some snorkeling (not as good as BVI). We raced some: Ben in Laser,
both of us in Hobie -- placing fourth, fourth, and second out of 7 in 3 races -- then in a high-performance
"buzz" on the last day. Also went on a 43-footer out of English Harbour on the south side of Antiqua with
5 other folks.
A good time was had by all, except, perhaps, Ross, who was home with the cats and had to shovel the snow...
