We took a van hop out of downtown Ravenna to Argenta, then rode off to Dozza, which is in the hill that are the beginnings of the Apennines. The ride was flat until just the last few kilometers, but boy there were some steeps there, and we were not used to any hill bigger than an overpass on our rides so far. It was also very warm (35°C, 95°F), so it was hard, but we made it. Turns out you can ride a really long way if you're wiling to make frequent stops, drink a lot, and snack often. The dinner we had at the hotel in Dozza was one of the best on the trip.
